Solutions for the car industry

Metha Energy believes that to ensure a succesful implementation of innovative environmental friendly technology in this area we must;
  • provide the end-user with the same or better driving properties that he/she has today and at the same time reduce CO2 significantly
and,
  • that any successful development towards this must take into consideration the realistic distribution of the necessary energy source. Most other fuel cells today are fueled by hydrogen, which will demand a completely new infrastructure for distribution, which is in reality not going to happen for many years. Our solution using methanol can be implemented into the current distribution infrastructure at a very fast pace and at a much lower cost. 

 
The first car with our methanol powered fuel cell is being presented in connection with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) conference - COP15 through December 2009 in Copenhagen. Fiat Scudo prototype car 

 
 

Our HT-PEM fuel cells are air-cooled and so do not require a separate cooling system. The technology operate at 160 degrees celsius. 

We see the future electric vehicle drive-trains as hybrids between battery and methanol powered fuel cells, where the battery provides the speed and the fuel cell provides the power.
